One man has died and three more have been injured in a knife attack with “an apparent Islamist motive” at a train station near the German city of Munich.
The suspected attacker, a 27-year-old man, was overpowered and arrested by police after stabbing four people at the S-Bahn station in Grafing at 5am local time (1pm AEST).
One man critically injured in the incident later died from his injuries, a spokesman from the local prosecutor’s office confirmed.”[The] assailant made remarks at the scene of the crime that indicate a political motive – apparently an Islamist motive,” the spokesman said.
“We are still determining what the exact remarks were.”
