UN says funding constraints may reverse humanitarian gains in Somalia

The UN humanitarian agency on Tuesday called for increased funding to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to millions of Somalis in need.The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that slowing down programs due to funding constraints could reverse recent humanitarian and socio-economic gains in Somalia. Somalia- Six People Killed In Attack At Kismayo

At least six people have been killed and 20 others injured in an attack at the port city of Kismayo in Somalia. Coronavirus – Somalia: COVID-19 Impact Update

Confirmed daily COVID-19 cases declined during the reporting period. Somalia has confirmed 3,265 with 2,396 recoveries as of 21 August but the number of deaths has remained at 93 for several weeks. Most cases are 20 to 60 years old, and 74 per cent are male. (more…)
