Film photography of Mogadishu city (Capital of Somalia) after the civil war. I have taken these photos in the year 2014. Mogadishu city was destroyed by barbaric local militia affiliated to different clans and headed by a warlord.
Unfortunately, most of these warlords are holding different high positions in the current government and rewarded them simultaneous as a hero for their crimes instead of prosecution. I am certain 100% that they will pay a heavy price soon or later. “Youma laa yan fa’u maalu wa la banoon, illa man atallaha bi qalbin saleem” (Qur’an-26:88-89).
Mogadishu city (XAMAR) used to be called the pearl of Indian Ocean, and before the civil war Mogadishu city was the most beautiful, safest and cleanest city in Africa. Today Mogadishu has a population over 3 million and it’s the centre of the government of Somalia, education and business and it is accommodating over 200,000 of internal displaced people. Mogadishu city has been forgotten and needs a great attention, restoration of social infrastructure, security and stability.
