On behalf of the Somali Social Unity Party (SSUP), and in the spirit of solidarity that binds us as
members of the Arab Social Democratic Parties, we write to respectfully request your collective
engagement on a matter of deep concern to the Somali people and to the principles we jointly uphold.
SSUP is gravely concerned by the recent decision of the State of Israel to recognize Somaliland as a
separate entity. This action undermines the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of the Federal
Republic of Somalia at a critical moment when the country is advancing toward democratization, stability
and inclusive social development after decades of conflict and fragmentation.
