BREAKING: Bombing at the Somali run Dar Al-farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minnesota
Bloomington, Minnesota — At 5:05 a.m. local time a bomb went off inside the head Imam’s office of the Dar al-Farooq Youth and Family Center just before the first morning prayer.
Fortunately none of the 15 to 20 attendees of the mosque were injured due to the blast. Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said when officers arrived after 911 calls about the blast, they found smoke and fire damage to the building.
A food security crisis is considered a famine when, according to the United Nations, “20 percent of households face extreme food shortages with a limited ability to cope; acute malnutrition rates exceed 30 percent; and the death rate exceeds two persons per day per 10,000 persons.”
